SMS Locker: A Text Message Based Mobile Storage System SMS Locker is a mobile storage application that allows users to store key/value pairs through text messages on a cell phone. Users can store messages in both plaintext or encrypted format in our secure data center and then retrieve the information later, via text message, on their cell phone. The encrypted (secure) version requires users to supply a secret word (password) to encode the message before storing or retrieving it. Note: SMS Locker is only available to UNCW students at this time. Students must be registered with Mobile Education to use the service. Click Here to register.

Examples of Use

1. Plaintext:
• Text PUT  Key  Value  to 90947 - store value for associated key on the server.
  Example: Text "PUT Indochine My favorite menu item was #7!" to 90947.
• Text GET  Key  to 90947 - retrieve value for associated key from the server.
  Example: Text "GET Indochine" to 90947 - returns "My favorite menu item was #7!"
2. Encrypted:
• Text SPUT  Password  Key  Value  to 90947 - store value encoded with password for associated key on the server.

Example: Text "SPUT abc123 Username JSMITH" to 90947.
• Text SGET  Password  Key  to 90947 - retrieve value encoded with password for associated key from the server.

Example: Text "SGET abc123 Username" to 90947 - returns "JSMITH".

Note: You can also text LIST to get a list of keys stored, CLEAR Key to clear a key item, and CLEARALL to clear all (delete all) keys stored.
